    Hi guys,
My wife and I have just booked a holiday for October, traveling from orlando to Santa Fe… road trip.
I was hoping to get any advice from any of you who know of any good venues to stop at to listen to some good music en route?

You really have to stop in at Gruene Hall just east of San Antonio, TX or any of a dozen clubs in Austin. Gruene Hall is the oldest dance hall in Texas and it is iconic. They play a lot of Texas Country there but they also have a wide variety sometimes. You just have to check out who they have when you are there. Austin is of course where Stevie Ray Vaughn got his start and you should stop by his statue while you are there.

    Hey Ian,

Have you chosen your route yet? You’re going right through the heart land of blues, roots, country and the whole birth of rock n roll there. You could go north through Mississippi to Memphis, or stay down low and go through New Orleans.. then up through Austin… either way, I’m sure you’ll find some good stuff.

    Hey bud,

Aiming to do both north and south as we are actually going there and back! Southern route on the way there, new Orleans etc, and then more northern (level with Memphis etc) on the way back.

    Can’t wait.
