The only used harps I now buy are collectable harps, antiques etc…
I have previously purchased a few used harps for active playing but to be honest I don’t bother any more.
Unless they are dirt cheap I’m not sure the savings are enough compared to new. A new marine band is what £30? They sell used for up to £20….
Plus as I play wooden combed harps they are harder to clean. If you play plastic combs then it’s not such an issue.
I’m not really a stickler for hygiene in most regards, don’t mind a bit of dirt, but I bought a hohner blues harp a year and a half ago and it was so cruddy it put me off used for good. It literally had chunks of grossness lodged in to it.
